What is it?

Skin collagen is a protein that is a main factor in your bones, skin, hair, muscles and ligaments. It helps keep your skin from sagging and makes you look more youthful. It makes up 1/3 of the protein in your body. Collagen is produced by fibroblast in your cells which is a structural part of your tissue and wound healing. Elastin is a connective tissue of protein that makes the skin flexible and able to bounce back to its shape.  Between elastin and collagen fibers—this forms the Collagen-Elastin Network.

Microcurrent Solution

With microcurrent treatments, you can stimulate collage, making your connective tissue stronger and more flexible. Microcurrent retrains your facial muscles to better tone and create a more natural contour. The face is the only place on the body where the muscle attach to the skin. These facial muscles are re-educated by the increase of Adenosine Triphosphate (or ATP) levels from a mild electrical current. To build collagen you need ATP. We produce less cellular energy as we get older, making it harder to produce collagen and Elastin. At Anika Skincare, we encourage the production of ATP with microcurrent facials. These facials increase ATP production by 500% and protein synthesis by almost 73%.

Microcurrent also increases blood circulation by around 35%. There are no negatives to microcurrent. We can help you rebuild collagen with this non-invasive facial treatment. She was chosen by Allured Publishing to be their Creative Director for several years, creating the covers of their magazines, doing the model makeup, choosing the photographers, models and themes according to their editorial calendar. She has been a freelance Makeup Artist for film, television, weddings, beauty makeovers which included teaching beauty industry professionals classes. 

In addition to her makeup work, Teresa is a skincare formulator, and NH Aesthetician, where she provides skincare and makeup services for her NH & MA clients, and operates an e-commerce beauty store.
